green acres

For my friend Anne who just wrote me saying how nice it must be living outside the city, this is just to show what the "burbs" are like. And yes, it is really nice to be free of the congestion and crowds.

for desperate housewives

So, I'’m staying at my friend'’s house for the next two months enjoying what I can only describe as the utmost in hospitality. She tells me I have to get my mind out of the gutter but I find this extremely hard to do when this is the first thing I see in the morning and the last thing I see before I go to bed. I'm not even going to begin to show you what they've installed in the kitchen!

i'm leaving on a jet plane

Thanks to Hijoo for capturing Yonsei University campus in the bloom of spring where I will be headed tomorrow to spend my afternoons in the bowels of its libraries doing research. No that's a lie. I will most likely be trolling the streets of Seoul in search of my favorite but elusive blood sausage vendor. Research be damned. I also realized too late that I'm leaving without a tourist visa, which I actually need. If no one hears from me in a month, call the embassy.

writing on the wall

I saw this building from several city blocks away in downtown l.a. and slowly navigated the labyrinth of one way streets to take this shot, circling in like a vulture. Though i'm not convinced this building deserves saving, at least this warrants more introspection than the underpass in Chicago that supposedly has a stain like the virgin mary. This is clearly a much more awesome spectacle of divinity at work.
